WELCOME & INDUCTION

Welcome

We have planned an full day of  important induction sessions to get you started on your UA92 journey! For January starters, Induction will take place 8/9th January.

It’s important to attend as many induction sessions as possible so when it comes to starting your first week of teaching, you have access to everything you need. It’s also a great time to meet new people and get to know your fellow class mates. See below for the kind of things you will get up to during Welcome Week.

KEY DATES

If you are starting your course in January, your induction will take place 8/9th January. You will be sent more information by email detailing when you need to attend and induction session timings and locations. Teaching starts week commencing 12th January. Find out all the key dates for the full academic year using the link below.

MEET THE TEAM

Get to know the key people who will play a big part in your uni experience. From your academics to the student experience team and your course reps. Everyone will be on hand to give you a warm welcome.

GET TO KNOW CAMPUS

Whether you’re based at UA92 Main Campus or the UA92 Business School, we will be running campus tours and introducing you to some of the main facilities, so you can familiarise yourself with your new surroundings.

DIGITAL SET UP

Setting up your IT and getting access to your digital platforms is a crucial part of preparing for your studies. You will need access to Teams and your student email so you can keep up to date on what’s happening, access important documents and communicate with your academics and support team. There will be sessions during induction to support you with this, so please make sure you attend!

LIBRARY INDUCTION

UA92 has access to LU Library (Lancaster University’s) digital library. You will have access to all the digitised academic texts you need without having to wait for books to be returned. There are induction sessions in Week 3 of each block to walk you through how to access the library and find the books you need! This will be very useful when you start your academic studies.

REGISTRATION

As part of the registration process, you will need to complete Student Check-in on campus with our registration team. There will be various drop-in sessions throughout the week so you can drop-in at any time and complete registration. Once this is complete, your student card will be prepared for collection.

COURSE INDUCTIONS

Find out more about what you will be studying in your first subject module, see the facilities you’ll be working in and meet your academic team and fellow classmates. You will start your first subject module the following week, so it’s important you take part in this induction so you are prepared and know what to expect.

ETHICAL CHALLENGE

Do you know what it means to be a good global citizen? Are you able to recognise and challenge poor behaviour? Complete these mandatory sessions and make sure you are equipped with the skills to have a positive impact on your student community.

WELCOME TALKS

This is your introduction to all the student experience and support services that will help you throughout your studies. Hear about the various opportunities to get involved, have your say and access student support and mental health services.
