DISABILITY & INCLUSIVE SUPPORT

INCLUSIVE SUPPORT

The Inclusive Support service is here to support anyone who has a disability, long term health condition, Neurodiversity, mental health condition or specific learning difference, such as dyslexia. If this is the case, we can set up a Learning Support Plan for you at UA92 and help you to apply for Disabled Students’ Allowances (see below). If you have a specific learning difference, we may also be able to provide you with something to submit with your assignments to ask staff to mark in consideration of this.

DISABLED STUDENTS' ALLOWANCES

If you have a disability, long-term health condition, mental health condition or specific learning difference (such as dyslexia) then you may be eligible for Disabled Students’ Allowances (DSA). DSA provides goods and services to support you during your time in higher education, such as hardware, software, study skills support and/or a specialist mentor.

DISABILITY & INCLUSIVE SUPPORT faqS

Inclusive Support is available to any student with a disability, long-term health condition, neurodiversity, mental health condition, or specific learning difference (such as dyslexia).

We can help you set up a Learning Support Plan, provide support with assignments, and assist with applying for Disabled Students’ Allowances (DSA).

If you have a condition that could affect your ability to study, and have included details on your application then we should have already been in contact with you. You can also self-refer to our Inclusive Support Service as soon as possible by emailing inclusivesupport@ua92.ac.uk.

If you think you may have a specific learning difference (such as dyslexia) but don’t have a diagnosis, we offer a free screening service to find out if you have any indicators of dyslexia. If you’d like to book a screening, please email inclusivesupport@ua92.ac.uk.

If you do have indicators, we may be able to refer you for a full diagnostic assessment with an educational psychologist who can determine whether you can be formally diagnosed. If you receive a formal diagnosis, we can then set up a support plan for you at UA92 and help you to apply for DSA.

A Learning Support Plan outlines the specific support you need to succeed in your studies. We will work with you to create a plan that meets your individual needs.

DSA provides financial support for students with disabilities, long-term health conditions, or specific learning differences to access higher education. This can include funding for equipment, software, support workers, or specialist study skills.

You can apply for DSA through your Student Finance England account. We can provide support and guidance throughout the application process.
